Northern Sage Commodity (NSC) Brokerage, LLC is led by partners Steve Johns, Kurt Becker, and Roy Grigsby. We are dedicated to creating and maintaining our extensive network of lifelong industry relationships. Partners

Steve Johns
Johns is the Managing Partner at NSC Brokerage. He has 15 years of experience in feed grain brokerage primarily focused on DDGS in various export channels. He started in 2005 in agriculture trading oats and other by-products. He has a Bachelors’ degree in International Business from Minnesota State University, Mankato, as well as an MBA in Finance with a focus on Risk Management from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
Kurt Becker
Becker is a Senior Partner at NSC Brokerage, specializing in agriculture risk management with a focus on DDGS and Soybean Meal. He has over 15 years of experience in Agriculture. Previously, he served as Director of Domestic Grains at Marquis Energy, where he honed his skills in market analysis and commodity trading. His career also includes a tenure as Risk Manager at Flint Hills Resources and as a Soybean Meal Export Trader at ADM. Kurt holds a BSBA in Finance from the University of Missouri, bringing a solid foundation in financial strategies to his work in the agricultural sector. Kurt grew up on a farm in Missouri and has always been passionate about agriculture.
Roy Grigsby
Grigsby is a Partner at NSC Brokerage. He brokers feed grains and specialty products. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Concordia St. Paul and an MBA in Finance from the same institution, where he graduated with distinction and a 3.95 GPA. Roy is passionate about finance, markets, and supporting farmers as the backbone of America.
